BISHOP'S CASTLE WALKING FESTIVAL
In the Shropshire Hills
Welcome
We are looking forward to meeting you in the 24th year of our walking festival in the Welsh Marches. Tucked in on the lea of Offa’s Dyke, we’ve lived with a history of borders, raids, journeys and travellers, and we have landscape features to illustrate it all. Join local walk leaders who have planned favourite routes and visits to special places to create our programme of walks*. Share in the hospitality of the area *, join a programme of evening events *, to which festival visitors and local residents are invited. We welcome all those who have explored with us before and those that want to try for the first time. We aim to make the website live for bookings by mid-December 2023.

"We always enjoy the Bishops Castle walking festival. A great selection to choose from for all abilities. Extremely well organised, with knowledgeable and friendly guides. Not to be missed!"
"A smashing walk, group and leader on Fridays walk up onto the Long Mynd. Dan is very knowledgeable and made for the walk to be a very interesting one. And on Saturday, Catherine and Caroline shared interesting knowledge on the remarkable tree walk. Great group too!"
"I completed 3 walks this year: Around Bishop's Castle, on Thursday; the Garden Walk, on Friday and Wonderful View Edge, on Sunday. All of the walks were extremely well-led, affording marvellous views of the countryside. There was a wide choice of walks, to suit different abilities and the summaries were helpful in guiding walkers to the most suitable walks for them. I am very grateful to the organisers of the festival and to all the leaders for making these walks available and for a thoroughly enjoyable weekend.
Thank you very much indeed."
"A massive thank you to all you wonderful volunteers who made the festival happen. It is very much appreciated."
