BISHOP'S CASTLE WALKING FESTIVAL
In the Shropshire Hills
Welcome
Thank you for your support in 2025.
We welcomed over 60 walkers and celebrated the Walking Festival’s 25th anniversary in style. Go to our gallery page to view photos and feedback from this year’s walks. See the Exploring Old Ways, part of our 25th anniversary celebrations.
In 2026, our 4-day Walking Festival will be held on Thursday 14th to Sunday 17th May. Our volunteer walks leaders are planning walks to help you explore more of this beautiful corner of the Shropshire Hills National Landscape. Being on the Welsh border, a rich heritage is ingrained in this landscape, with the Welsh place names and defensive features, such as Offa’s Dyke and Clun castle, are a testimony to once turbulent times. These days, the rolling upland hills and meandering river valleys give the area a quiet and remote feel.
In mid December 2025, we will publish our 2026 Walking Festival programme and Festival Fringe Events here.
We look forward to welcoming you to Bishop’s Castle in 2026 and sharing our favourite walking routes and places to visit.
